Stellar Building Performance LLC provides energy code testing, building performance diagnostics and third party quality assurance across Brevard, Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin and Okeechobee counties in Florida. This page explains what information we collect, why we collect it, who sees it and what you can ask us to do about it. It is written to be read rather than to cover us, so if something here is unclear you are welcome to call and ask.

The company is owner operated. In practice that means the person reading your enquiry is the person who performs the test and writes the report.
What we collect
Information you give us
When you request testing or a proposal through a form on this site, or by phone or email, we collect what you tell us. That is typically your name, your company, your email address, your phone number, the project address, the stage of construction and what you need tested. Some of our request forms also let you attach files, and people commonly send plans, energy calculations, a prior test report, a program checklist or photos. We collect whatever is in those files.
We do not ask for and do not want payment card numbers, bank details, social security numbers or anything similar through this website.
Information we create by doing the work
Performing a test produces information about the building: measured results, the conditions on the day, observations about the envelope or the duct system, and photographs of the areas we tested. That material becomes the report. Photographs of a building interior sometimes incidentally capture personal belongings, and field notes sometimes record who was on site.
Information collected automatically when you visit this site
Like nearly every website, this one records standard technical information when a page loads: the page requested, the date and time, the referring page, your browser and device type, and your IP address. We use three analytics or display tools, described under Cookies and tracking below.
Why we collect it and what we do with it
- To answer your enquiry and price the work
- To schedule testing around your construction stage and your inspection date
- To perform the test and produce the report
- To deliver that report to the people on your project team, which is usually the construction manager or superintendent and sometimes an office contact who handles permit submittal
- To file results where a building department requires them for permit close out
- To invoice you and keep the business records we are required to keep
- To follow up on a quote that has gone quiet, and to stay in contact with builders we work with regularly
- To understand which pages of this site are useful, in aggregate
We do not sell your information. We do not rent or trade contact lists. We do not run advertising, so nothing you do on this site is used to target ads at you here or anywhere else.
Who we share it with
People on your project
Reports go to the recipients the client designates. If you are a builder, that is your team. If you are a homeowner and another party arranged the test, such as a general contractor or a program administrator, the report goes to whoever holds the contract along with you. Tell us at the outset if you want a recipient added or removed.
Building departments and program administrators
Energy code test results exist in order to be filed. Where a permit requires a blower door or duct leakage result, that result reaches the authority having jurisdiction. Where work is performed under a program such as ENERGY STAR, results reach the program as that program requires.
Service providers
We are a small company and we use ordinary business software rather than running our own systems. Information you give us may be stored or processed by these providers on our behalf:
- WordPress.com, which hosts this website
- Tally, which provides the request forms on this site
- HubSpot, our customer records and project pipeline
- Microsoft 365, our email, calendar and file storage
- GoFormz, which produces and delivers field reports
- QuickBooks, for invoicing and accounting
- Google, for site analytics, Search Console and our Business Profile
- Trustindex, which displays our Google reviews on this site
Each of these providers has its own privacy terms. We share with them only what the tool needs in order to do its job.
Professional advisors, and where the law requires it
Our accountant and, if it ever became necessary, our attorney or insurer may see relevant records. We will disclose information where we are legally required to, and we will tell you when we are permitted to tell you.
Project write-ups and photographs
We publish short write-ups of real projects on this site, because showing actual work in actual communities is how a testing company earns trust. Some rules we hold ourselves to:
- We never publish an exact street address of a private residence. We describe the community, the corridor or the part of town instead.
- We check photographs for house numbers, licence plates, and names or personal email addresses visible on paperwork, and we remove or crop them.
- Where we work under another company that holds the builder relationship, we describe that accurately and do not claim their client as ours.
- If you would rather your project or your photographs did not appear, say so and they come down. You do not need to give a reason.
Cookies and tracking
This site uses three third party tools that may set cookies or record a visit:
- Google Analytics, which tells us in aggregate which pages get read and which search terms bring people here
- Jetpack Stats, a basic visitor counter included with our WordPress.com hosting
- Trustindex, which loads our Google reviews into the review badge and the review section
Our request forms are embedded from Tally, and loading a form page involves a request to Tally.
There is no advertising pixel on this site. No Meta or Facebook pixel, no remarketing tag, no advertising network, and no cross site tracking for advertising purposes. We are not running ads, so we have nothing to retarget you with.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and Google publishes a browser add on that opts you out of Google Analytics on every site. Blocking cookies will not stop you using this site or submitting a request.
How long we keep things
Test results, reports and project records are kept for the long term. There are good reasons for that: a builder warranty question can surface years after a test, a building department may ask for a result again, and accounting and tax records have to be retained. Enquiries that never became projects are kept while there is a reasonable prospect of the work happening, then cleared out.
How we protect it
Accounts are protected with strong, unique passwords and multi factor authentication where the provider supports it. Access to reports and customer records is limited to people who need it in order to do the work. We use established vendors rather than home built systems specifically because they handle security better than a small company can on its own. No system is perfectly secure and we are not going to claim otherwise, but we treat your project information as your property.
What you can ask us to do
- Ask what we hold about you. We will tell you.
- Correct it. If a contact record or a report detail is wrong, we will fix it.
- Ask us to delete it. We will delete what we are able to delete. Where a record has to be kept, for example a test result already filed with a building department or an invoice inside our accounting records, we will say so plainly and explain why.
- Stop hearing from us. Reply to any message and say so, or email the address above. Follow up on quotes stops, and so does everything else that is not necessary to a job already underway.
- Have a project or a photograph removed from this site. No reason required.

Children
This site and these services are aimed at builders, contractors, developers and homeowners arranging work on a building. We do not direct anything here at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Where information is held
Stellar Building Performance operates in Florida and our service providers are United States companies, so information is stored and processed in the United States. If you are contacting us from outside the United States, please be aware of that before sending us anything.
Changes to this policy
If what we collect or who we share it with changes in a way that matters, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Substantive changes will not be made quietly.
