Mario with Stellar Building Performance came in clutch today. I was informed by the plans review department of SLC that I needed to complete a blower door test on my nearly finished new construction home. I got in touch with Mario, and he could not have been more professional. He answered all my questions and informed me he would be out the same day. He showed up on time and completed his test, explaining the process. When he finished, he issued my certificate on the spot. I cannot recommend Stellar Building Performance and the owner, Mario, enough! We purchased our 1993 home in Viera in mid-February, after having a thorough home inspection completed. When the first truly hot days of summer arrived, however, we realized our air conditioning system was struggling to keep up. An HVAC company we had used in the past told us it was not the system itself and suggested expensive work in the attic. But, before spending thousands of dollars, we wanted an unbiased opinion from someone who wasn’t trying to sell us equipment or additional services. That’s exactly what we found with Mario. He performed an incredibly thorough home energy audit that included a heat load and air leakage investigation, blower door testing with detailed notes and photos, duct leakage testing, infrared imaging, room-by-room pressure measurements, and comprehensive insulation inspections of both the walls and attic. More importantly, he took the time to explain verbally, and with a written report, what he was finding, why it mattered, and what improvements would provide the greatest benefit for our home. The report and recommendations were detailed, educational, and gave us the confidence to make informed decisions instead of simply accepting costly recommendations from contractors. What impressed me most was Mario’s integrity. He had nothing to sell us other than his expertise, which made his recommendations feel completely trustworthy. Even after the audit was finished, he continued checking in to see how things were going and what improvements we had made. That level of follow-up and genuine concern for his clients is rare today. If you’re experiencing high energy bills, uneven temperatures, an overworked HVAC system, or simply want to understand how your home is performing before investing in repairs, Stellar Building Performance is absolutely worth the very reasonable cost.
