Supporting McKinney’s Growth in High-End Residential Construction
McKinney Commercial Construction Group has been part of Florida’s construction industry since 1995. Based in West Melbourne, the company provides preconstruction planning, architectural modeling, and construction management and has completed hundreds of projects over its history.
As McKinney continues expanding its work in high-end residential construction, Stellar will be supporting the team across 17 large luxury residences with building-performance and energy-code testing services. McKinney is currently building its high-end residential team around luxury custom homes valued at $3.5 million and above, making these projects a significant addition to the residential construction taking place throughout Brevard County.
Our first home together in Cocoa Beach gave us an opportunity not only to perform the required testing, but to serve as a technical resource when questions arose about the home’s performance and code requirements.
That’s the kind of partnership we’re looking for.

Building Performance for Luxury Residential Projects
Large custom residences present a very different environment from the production homes, townhomes, multifamily developments, and smaller custom projects we work on throughout our service area.
This Cocoa Beach residence spans three stories and features expansive glazing, balconies, an open multi-story foyer, rooftop access, and the scale and finishes expected from a multimillion-dollar coastal home. It was a great project to work on and an equally good example of how building-performance testing applies across very different types of residential construction.

This Spotlight is really about the bigger story: the project itself and the beginning of a relationship we’re excited to grow.
Looking Ahead With McKinney Construction
Stellar’s goal is to be more than the company that arrives at the end of construction to produce a test report. We want to become a resource builders can call when questions come up about energy-code compliance, building-envelope performance, testing requirements, or quality assurance.
